After receiving your college diploma, life seems pretty sweet. You are on a high because you have achieved something you have worked hard for and have spent four years doing so. However, with this achievement comes many uncertainties, such as the never ending questions your loved ones will ask. Where will you be next year? Any jobs lined up? Do you have any interviews? As these questions come rolling in, one will think to themselves "hey, give me a break, I just earned my degree," but in reality you have been spending nearly every waking moment on your laptop in order to update your resume, finalize your cover letter, and fill out job applications. Nonetheless, this leads you to what seems to be an never-ending cycle of waiting for the employer to call you up and schedule an interview. This is not everyone's first month experience, especially if they have planned an after college vacation. Even without a summer vacation on the horizon, it doesn't mean that there aren't a few fun weekend trips or family adventures planned. Also don't forget, there will be many times for relaxing, reading, or binge watching movies or television shows that you have missed out on due to hours of school work and classes.
However, what is also taxing is realizing that one day when you do get that first job, you will have to move out of the comforts of your parents house and adventure out into the world as a true adult, but don't worry, many 20-somethings are facing this same dilemma and your not alone. You may not have many responsibilities now, but hopefully in a few short weeks or even a couple months from now the first job will be there and your summer goal will be achieved.
