One of my favorite parts about the entire trip was watching the Chambersburg Parade, despite the freezing cold weather. We only stayed at the parade for an hour, so we didn't get to see Santa guild down main street on his float. Nonetheless, I feel as if, I am a little too old to believe in Santa, but not too old for the Christmas spirit. I also loved singing Christmas tunes on the car ride home, and getting to spend the entire weekend with my cousins. This trip was a lot of fun for me! I haven't experienced pure excitement and joy in a really long time, so I thank my cousins for that, as the last two to three months have been really tough for me. I'm glad I was invited on this spontaneous adventure and boy, does it beat binge watching T.V. alone at home.
Now that I'm back in my hometown, I never expected I would get many opportunities to get away, especially since Thanksgiving is in three days. Nonetheless, I was thrown into an adventure last weekend when my cousin texted me, asking if I wanted to visit her sister in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. I had some reservations about accepting this spontaneous, last minute road trip, but I did end up caving in. I wanted to experience a town I have never been to, spent time with my family, and make more memories because for the past, three weeks, I sometimes felt confined to my home because transportation has been limited and no plans had been made, so my cousin, picked me up and we were on our way. The trip to Chambersburg took us a little over two hours However, we ended up getting to my cousin's townhouse safely, so I have no complaints. We spent our time in Chambersburg watching a Hater's Back Off marathon, having a Shop n' Save extravaganza, making a sheet canopy (a blanket fort, if you will), having an icecream snack at midnight, and going to the Chambersburg Christmas Parade. Chambersburg, is definitely a country town, spread out, and with little activity, unless you count the planned events that occur once in a while like Thursday Night Bingo at the Senior Center or Firehall, but if you enjoy the peace and quite, this town is for you.
